Records are comprised of correspondence, memoranda, photographs, reports, printed materials, financial documents, itineraries, notes, lists, drafts, proof sheets, instructions, and a copy of the Museum editorial style guide, dating 1963-1987 (bulk 1969-1985), of the J. Paul Getty Museum Paintings Department under Curators Burton Fredericksen and Myron Laskin, Jr. The documents span three phases of Fredericksen's career at the Getty Museum (from his early days as first sole Curator and then Chief Curator, and his time as Curator of Paintings) and cover part of Laskin's tenure. The records have been divided into correspondence of the curators, correspondence of the assistant Curators, financial records, and publication notes.
